thank you hello, fig. do you know what it might mean? i’m still thinking about it.

      • Hello, Fig says :

hmm.. i think it’s difficult to ascribe meaning, in a concrete way, to such an outlandish / complex image.. i could probably [try and] write a paper on how the classical [nature] is being distorted or invaded by the modern [science, numerals etc], or how the image of the black swan being strangled by the nude symbolises some kind of timeless battle of good vs evil..! the basic feeling i get from it is ‘conflict’, i suppose.. lots of potential there though! what do you think? :D

i think you are right…if it weren’t a complex concept i would not need to make a figure to illustrate it. i don’t know what it means, but i notice the same contrast you do between “strangling” black swan/embracing black swan, as well as my head–full of fetid flowers and a book–under my red-plumed artist’s hat. and the word anamorphosis itself, which implies a distortion that can only be resolved into the intended image from a particular vantage or with a special instrument. hmmmm. black swan is keeping a distance right now, alarmed by possible implications. but who is to say which image–strangling or embrace–is intended, and which is distortion that must be resolved? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. thank you for looking hello, fig!
